Sure working out is cool and all but what bout sports

Title says it would you rather go to the gym and work out or invest in a sport and get slower but better benefits?

This doesn't make sense. "Sports" encompasses everything... including weightlifting. Both have inherent benefits but if we're comparing sports like Rugby and soccer, they're in a completely different ball park to lifting and can't exactly be compared. For one, most people who do those sports in any sort of competitive manner will train in the gym anyways. I'd like to hear what the so called "better benefits" of "sports" would be.

Go to the gym and workout and play sports like soccer in you're spare time.
