    Pathfinding in 3D Games

    Hi all,

Please excuse if this is a frequently asked question however my search didn't really return any useful results, so here goes.

What would be the best practicies, start point to create a bot that can get from point A to point B in a game?

In an ideal world I could maybe access an array of walkable tiles that I can just use to create a path to my destination but I somehow feel like this isn't going to be the case.

I don't want to name the game specificly but think open world mmo (Where you can walk freely and not just from tile to tile like runescape for example). If anyone is able to give me some ideas on where to start It would be much appreciated.

If you have any followup questions please just ask and I'll be happy to answer the best I can.

    Thanks in advance

Edit: I know about pathfinding algorithms etc, my question is more focused on how would be the best way to get the information I need from the game. Would it be from memory addresses etc?
