    What you need is to build more muscles to lose weight. Fasting way to build muscle is to life Heavy (weight training). If you want to expedite the results, watch you diet as well as do some HIIT (High intensity interval training). Cut all sugars (sugary drinks) and process foods. Cheers!

    Lifting weights will make you lose weight because you are burning calories, but it will also make you gain weight in muscle density so it’s hard to record. Cardio, etc would make you lose weight but not gain.

    Try to loose weight by controlling your diet first. Lifting weights only won't help you enough. Try to sort out your diet and try to have healthy diet along with good cardio and normal weights workout.

    Also do have a trainer for yourself because your age is good and a good trainer would really boost your body by guiding you to do some good exercise.

    Of course it is - like others have said, by lifting weights you are burning calories. Which is essentially what makes you lose weight (calorie deficit).

    You need to have a proper diet and count your calories.
