u cant pick where fat comes off u dumb fatty
I'm planning on doing some lifting like curls/bench but I want to know if it will help target/eliminate fat in my chest/stomache area. I would also like to know what are the best ways to lose fat in such areas so I can slim down before my next check up. I need to lose 50-60 pounds within 5-7 months, but hitting the goal isn't the main focus for me, just slimming down is something that will make me feel good and happy, losing the weight is what my Doctor wants.
Some information if you need it:
I'm about to be 16
I'm a little bit over 6 foot
I weigh about 210

There is no such thing as spot reduction. If you want to lose fat, figure out your TDEE (use an online calculator) and eat below your maintenance calorie requirements. Any sort of physical activity that burns calories will help you lose weight, however if you don't sort out your diet and eat less/properly, you won't see much difference.

Any basic TDEE calculator to figure out what a person at your age/activity level should be eating to maintain weight, then eat below that. Use myfitnesspal or any other calorie tracking app to record how much you eat. 3k calories is a lot of food but at your age and weight it's possible.

https://www.iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ is pretty accurate in my experience as well as others. As for your food buy a scale and get in the habit, don't guesstimate (what a lot of people do,) otherwise you'll more than likely overeat (like a lot of people do, once again.)

You'll lose fat progressively over your entire body.
Lifting has other benefits. In your 20s, your fluid IQ starts deteriorating. But there is a way to maintain your fluid IQ, and that is by exercising and lifting.

Confused as to why your doctor wants you to lose 50-60lbs. 6 foot and 150lbs is not healty.
Although not a holistic nor 100% accurate representation of health; being 150lbs at 6foot is within the healthy BMI range. If he's currently 210 but high in body fat, it poses numerous health risks and he's better off cutting a lot of fat out.
Oh absolutely, 6'1, 210 isn't that bad even if you are "fat." As long as you work towards being healthy then you'll be alright.
