That seems abnormal. Any chance you'd want to try to talk to PayPal about it?
It could actually be fees..? Are you sending via credit/debit card?
Hey Guys,
recently whenever trying to send money through friends and family to other sellers i have experienced that my fees are costing me the same amount of money i am trying to send, so basically if i buy something for 20$ the paypal fee will also be 20$ and i will end up paying double the original price, dont know why this happens thus ive come here for help, anything is appreciated
Thanks.

im currently out of paypal balance and so its mostly out of a debit card but the fees are still way to high, even for smaller payments of even 2 to 5 dollars the fees cause the payment to be doubled
Sorry, I'm unsure then. I think you should attempt to speak to PayPal themselves and they can look into all the fees you're being forced to pay. For about a transfer of $150-200, it'd cost me about $6 if done by card. Your amount seems very abnormal. I certainly wouldn't pay those fees.
Its algood, thanks for the help will probably look towards calling paypal and seeking support from them
Thanks again.
Switch to Revolut, Paypal is trash-
Fees with Revolut are next to nothing and they don't limit your account for shit reasons.
@Momo It could be a glitch or an error on their side, but who knows paypal has every excuse for every problem.
I recommend sticking with PayPal as a buyer. The protection afforded to you is really good, incomparable to any other service.
PayPal is terrible. It sucks. But because of it's name and almost every single merchant uses it, most and any consumers will benefit from using PayPal. There are even merchants who don't accept any other payment methods other THAN PayPal. Which is very unfortunate. PayPal knows this which is why fees so extremely high.
