My go-to spot would definitely be eBay.
I found this site that sells serial numbers to various products (high end keyboards, mouses, etc.), but why would anyone want just a serial number for it? I assume it would be to get one of these products for free via the warranty. Is this correct? For what other purpose would you purchase one of these serial numbers?
Here is the site I'm talking about: https://npcvend.com/
Any input on this would be appreciated.

On the most basic note, its basically getting a replacement saying that the product is broken or does not work. There are many other reasons as well, but its basically to get a free product minus the cost of the serial and in some cases boxing.

This answer does not answer the OP's question in any way.
yes you use the SN, along with faked proof of purchase and pictures (if needed) to make a warranty claim and just hope that they send you a new one for free. or you can box some companies. its never 100% so sometimes you end up spending $20 on serial numbers.
Welcome to the SE field!
Pretend you the owner of that device and tell them that you encounter some problem with it!
Thanks for the replies everyone!
When SEing them, have you ever had to send them proof of destruction? SWIM was thinking about just buying a device from a local store, SEing the company to have them send a new one using proof of purchase and box, etc., then returning the device to the local store.
Do you guys using VPN? Do they have tools to track you down if you are just changing names/devices that u SEd from/shipping adresses?
Going to try this shit, need some extra money. Looking forward!
no you don't send a empty box, you send a box full of paper or anything that matches the weight that the box needs to be, if you just send a empty box the weight on shipping will show just the weight of the box and the company your boxing will see that and be like umm wtf wait for the box to get the warehouse open it, see its empty and tell you that you didnt send the item.
or you can use the dry ice method, but you only do that if the company checks the box before they send out the replacement, as some places will ship the replacement as soon as they see you shipped the broken item (thats why if its zero weight that will be like wtf and not ship the replacement out first.)
