I did. Download, copy, paste and I couldn't enter the game. Error: "The game is currently unavailable (application running)", after removing files and downloading original ones I could enter the game again.

I think something is wrong, dude.

Remove pak_01.dir.vpk and pak_01.dir.vpk.backup
Also remove "models" and "vgui" from "materials" folder.
The last folder you will have to remove is "addons"

After that, start steam, go to library, right-click on cs:go, properties, local files, verify integrity of game cache. Steam will download the missing files and you will be able to run cs.

For those of you with the application error do this:

1. Delete "pak_01.dir.vpk" from the "csgo" folder
2. Rename "pak_01.dir.vpk.backup" to "pak_01.dir.vpk"
3. Copy VPK patcher to "csgo" folder.
4. Drag and drop "pak_01.dir.vpk" into VPK patcher.

(These steps assume you have already followed Zero's instructions).

Zero cool - I did a fresh install of V2, never having installed anything else previously, I get the same error (application running). Then I followed v4drigars instructions but doesn't that defeat the purpose if we are re verifying the models?

I am on 64 bit win 7, is there a way around this? Perhaps windowed mode?

Also will this work on servers that are sv_pure?

zerocool,can't i just use the vpk's to see through walls with the original models ?
i mean,its kinda,weird to have red terrorists and blue ct's,so can i use the original player models and still see through walls ? ;D
