I remember there used to be an old ass Anime on Adult Swim back when AS was only on weekends. It was where these massive smart bugs started taking over the Earth and the humans were in a war with them, and the story was based around the humans colonizing in Space, but the story surrounded a few people still on Earth who were trying to save others who were still there as well.

It was called something like Blue, I think
