    How'd you learn your language.

It's been quite a while guise

    How did

I learned C++ by Sams teach yourself C++ in 1 hour a day, and learned SDL with focus on SDL. I use an SRS program (Anki) to help me remember the gayass names of SDL structs and functions.

Only prob with the sams is the inconsistency of style in examples, it had 3 authors (collab effort)

Focus on sdl was confusing as hell because you have 4 pages of crap, 1 code example, then 4 more pages of crap on another subject

    VB - Taught myself.
    PHP - Taught myself
Java - I have a professor, but I haven't learned anything yet as syntactically it is similar to PHP.
HTML - Again I have a professor, but MOST of the stuff I've learned has been just from fucking around with writing pages on my own.

    I can't remember if I know any other languages...I don't think so.

Pretty much everything I know was me doing stuff ahead of my course, I used to go to c++ / java / python classes but it was slow as fuck. I just tend to work on examples, give myself a task / problem to solve and then learn what I need to know to solve it. That way I know what I need to know for my work

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
    - Dwight D. Eisenhower

    IDK MANG

I just did shit and now I'm good at it.

Honstly, I just kept reading books until I got them. I figured programming out at a pretty young age; but I didn't learn from hacking.

I started out with hacking - but that's not realy programming; then I moved to writing engines & games (The first three attempts where a fail, but you learn A LOT from failing) JevaEngine is a success

Then I read up on the window's drivers system, that got me interested in kernel. Then I learned a shit load about the kernel and tried writing my own OS(You learn a lot from that too.) - that got me in the hardware level of things. I tried writing some firmware for a couple devices - hardware engineering is so complex you really need to take a class for it; so I took a break from that.

There are two types of tragedies in life. One is not getting what you want, the other is getting it.

If you wake up at a different time in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?
