people still use newsgroups?? lol
I typed this up for OP but i read his post wrong.
NZB indexers is basically a part of the internet that has databases of media with a shit ton of media on it. Im talking TV Shows, movies, porn kind of stuff. The benefit of using nzbs rather than torrents is that its much more safe, the speed max's mine out all of the time (150mb/s down), and the quality of these files.
Most of these users have home servers setup to automatically download and save content. You can browse imdb and add tv shows and movies to ur watchlist and the server will search nzbs, download them, store them and rename the files and their folders appropriatly if you set it up all properly. Then you can use Plex or Kodi whichever you prefer to stream your content across your devices (Plex and kodi are not the only way).
For more info i suggest you follow this guide here: https://www.cuttingcords.com/home/ul...etting-started
Its a step by step tut on how to set the server up. Personally would use radarr over couch potato.

it's basically an alternative to torrents. When I was downloading wii games from public trackers years ago I started getting copyright infringement letters and just started using newsgroups instead, i since just used private trackers and was fine but they do download super fast. I think I used giganews back in like ~08 and had stupid fast download speeds with it
Inderxers are like search engines for nzb files which are like torrent files/magnets BUT you need to have a paid subscription (to a u***** provider) to download them. Most people use two indexers (or more), mine are probably nzbgeek (for automation) and dognzb (for manual searches).
