Why is my CrossFire not working? (DirectX Error)

Hello, I changed my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7, and my CrossFire is not working or is crashing. What should I do?

Hello, I updated my DirectX to 11, or 10, and now my CrossFire don't work. What should I do?

I know this happens with a lot of people, but, why?

CrossFire is a game that runs with DirectX 9, when you don't have it, CrossFire will not run, and theres no miracle.

But wait, it was working.

When you changed to Windows 7, which comes with DirectX 11 Installed, if CrossFire is not working, thats because some complements from DirectX 9 are not intalled correctly. How to fix it? Eazily, you can download and install DirectX 9, but its not possible if you have a higher version installed, and you can't just unistall DirectX 11 from Windows 7, the DirectX End-User Runtimes (February 2010) will fix this error, installing all the latest complements you need.

But it still not working, halp!

Now, probably it is because your Drivers are not updated, but how to update it?

Press the

Windows Button + R

and write

devmgmt.msc

. Open the Tab Video Adapters and click right the Right Buttom in whatever appeared. Then you'll see "Update Drivers ...". Make it check with the internet, and it'll update it.

If it couldn't find any updates, you can check it manually.

Check which is your Video Card. Download AIDA32 clicking here, this program will tell you everything about your computer. After knowing your video card, go its producer's website.

Click here if it is NVIDIA. (*Only works with Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.)

Click  here if it is ATI/AMD.

After updateing it, try opening your CrossFire

If your have another Video Card Producer google it and check how to upgrade its Drivers. You can also help saying which Producer you have, so I can add it here.

No way! Its not working, I don't know what to do!

There are two reasons:
First: You did something wrong.
and/or Second: Your Video Card don't support DirectX 11, so you can't play CrossFire or any DirectX 9 based game with Windows 7.
The only way to play is reinstalling Windows XP to your computer.
