The save format has been updated for the new DLC being released soon. The current version of the Save Editor linked here (Revision 125) may corrupt your save files. I suggest using revision 133 or higher.

No problem. Keep up the awesome work yourself. Hopefully Versa comes along and updates the first post. If not, may want to create a new topic and have it replace this one. This way people with the patch don't run into problems using the older version of the save editor.

The editor steals bank slots. I upped the bank slots with the editor, and after reloading the save I was not just back down to 16, but down to 15 slots. I tried again and it bumped me back to 14. I had to replace the file with a backup to get all 16 slots back.

It's not a problem with the editor, it's due to the 1.2.0 patch. Should have been fixed with 1.2.1, though.

You don't need to, but you'll need to re-select your modified character in the main menu afterwards. And yeah, just replace your save with the modified one.
