    Exclamation Simple VMWare Setup guide by -[C]vrLe*

    So, as I see so many people asking about farmbot, I'm here to put up my own simple little guide. I really have nothing else to do now so lets start!
    And yes, I know it has been published a million times, but hey i don't care. I'm not asking anything in return. I was just bored and decided to help.

    Here are 8 steps.

    Step 1. Download VMware
    Step 2. Download Windows XP Professional ISO
    Step 3. Install Windows
    Step 4. Edit memory preferences
    Step 5. Bypass
    Step 6. Modify registry
    Step 7. Make more farmbots
    Step 8. Start Crossfire.exe

    Step 1. Download VMware

    First of all, you need a VMWare Workstation, you can go on this link to GET THE VMWARE WORKSTATION
    I advise you to download the bigger one(573 mb) because it contains usefull VMWare Tools you will need later on.
    Follow on-screen steps and install VMWare.

    Step 2. Download Windows XP Professional ISO

    Go on this link to GET THE WIN XP ISO

    Step 3. Install Windows

    After you have downloaded both VM Workstation and Win XP Pro, it's time to install that ISO into a full working Virtual Machine.
    Open VMWare and click File -> New -> Virtual Machine...
    Then chose Typical install, and locate your ISO using Installer image file(iso) option.
    Type in serial provided in the torrent and a username.
    Choose number of cores per processor. This should be as much as possible, in most cases 4 cores or more, as long it doesn't give you an error message.
    Under memory, put 1024-2048. Depending on how much memory your PC has.
    Size of your virtual hard disk should be 15GB, anything above is not necessary.
    If you have some problem installing Win XP Pro, let me know.

    Step 4. Edit memory preferences

    Once you got your Virtual Windows running, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Memory and check Fit all virtal machine memory into reserved host RAM.

    Then choose how much memory you want VMWare to use. I advise you to leave 4GB of memory for your PC for normal functioning. Everything else you should put in Virtual Machines. After that, shut down VMWare.

    Step 5. Bypass

    Go to the folder you have stored your Virtual Machines. This is in usually in Documents -> Virtual Machines -> NameOfYourVirtualMachine
    Right click on the file thats ending with .vmx and Open with... Notepad!
    In that file, locate the word unity! After that, copy these following lines, and in the end it should be looking like this:

    unity.wasCapable = "TRUE"
    svga.vramSize = "134217728"
    monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"
    isolation.tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "true"
    isolation.tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "true"
    isolation.tools.setVersion.disable = "true"
    isolation.tools.getVersion.disable = "true"
    monitor_control.disable_directexec = "true"

    Save and close it.

    Step 6. Modify registry

    Run VMWare and your Virtal Machine. When Windows has loaded up, click on Start -> Run -> type in ''Regedit'' -> Enter!
    In Registry Editor go on Edit -> Find -> Type in ''ven_15''
    Modify the following.

    ProviderName: ATI/NVIDIA, Inc.
    DriverDesc: ATI/NVIDIA SVGA II

    It should be looking like this...

    Close Registry Editor

    Step 7. Make more farmbots

    Now that you got yourself a Virtual machine capable of starting Crossfire, right click on you Virtual machine and choose Clone...
    Make it a Full clone and wait for the process to finish. Repeat it as many times you want.

    Step 8. Start Crossfire.exe

    Start Crossfire.exe and put all graphics to low. Enjoy your farming!

    I dont understand you, and you dont understand me...
    Look, you can have windows XP, Vista or 7 on your PC, it's not important. The Windows XP I provided is for Virtual machines only, not your PC, meaning -> you will have multiple Virtual Windows installed.
    Im using Windows XP for Virtual Machines because it takes least memory, but on my PC ( not virtual, the real one!) I have Windows 7. Do you understand me now?

    Very well done! Im sure no one will have any problem installing it anymore
    Side note; If you don't wont your signature to be copied you should change the black background to something more complex so it wouldn't be as easy to change the text :P

    Yes, you need 64 bit computer. This guide is not for everyday configuration. You need to have at least 6GB of RAM.
