Desaturating usually only affects overlaying/blending modes. Generally speaking, it makes it easy to achieve a colour you like when you're modding something that isn't black/dark grey.
OT: Try adding in another colour (probably dark/black) and use less camo. It's a nice camo, but there's just a bit too much imo. The scope just looks odd tbh.

I can't please everyone. Scope uses color placement of the SOPMOD. The entire goal of this mod was to create a better camouflage in the place of the shit Nexon gave us (TAR-21 CAMO). That's why I made this. Nothing else. It was a 30 second mod anyways.

This is a love it or hate it mod. That's how it goes. @aeronyxjr
I like mods that are a solid camo not a bunch of crap spattered on it. This is pretty damn nice imo

There are plently places to improve this mod like the observations made ^above^

I don't see what's wrong with the scope. It's pretty fine to me.
I love the camo pattern. I just hate the color for some reason. Like this color sickens me. But very nice job on the pattern and Im not seeing a problem with the scope.
I think that it's a bit choppy and dark but it's good, better than I could do without overlays xD

Colors are where they are supposed to be, that's the point of a camouflage, if you don't like it or don't understand the definition of squares being more effective in distorting the difference between colors, don't expect me to kiss up to you. Reputations shouldn't cross over forum sections, so here, you are the equivalent of a smart, talented choob. Don't take it personally, I just hate people waving their shit around like it doesn't stink, so I try to prevent that stage as early as possible.
