I SHALL PLAY CA!
this Tutorial on how to Play CA on a Virtual Machine
Mac Version idk if it works on Widows, but if it dose let me know!

well seeing that you have a Mac OS X and have VMware Fusion and Combat arms installed in it
but this error message keeps popping up:"sorry, this application cannot run under a virtual machine"

well here is how you can fix that

ok first things first
PLEASE Double check what your doing

lets start!

CLOSE YOUR Virtual Machine! if you had it open

look for your Virtual Machine
should be located in your Documents>Virtual Machine>(Name of your VM).vmwarevm

now once your at your "NameOfVM.vmwarevm" you will need to view the files in it
right click>Show Package Contents

good job, now look for a file "NameOfVM.vmx" it should be like 3kbs and always ending with ".vmx"
right click>Open With>TextEdit

a window will pop-up showing lots of information ending with "TRUE", "FALSE", Numbers, and some other stuff
Example:

.encoding = "UTF-8"
config.version = "8"
virtualHW.version = "9"
scsi0.present = "TRUE"
scsi0.virtualDev = "lsisas1068"
memsize = "3000"
mem.hotadd = "TRUE"

GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THAT PAGE
and (don't copy the "----------ADDTHIS----------")

v-----------ADDTHIS----------v

svga.vramSize = 268435456
monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"
isolation.tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.setVersion.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.getVersion.disable = "true"
monitor_control.disable_directexec = "true"

^----------ADDTHIS----------^

Now Save it! Close it! and Start your VM
if your paranoid like me, i would create and Original VM.vmx (place it somewhere else)
and save your EditedNew VM.vmx into the file

NOW you SHOULD be able to Play Combat Arms

if NOT follow the Steps Below

first things first

you should be on your VM trying to play CA but your still getting the error message
"sorry, this application cannot run under a virtual machine"

close that
now Click the Start Button (Windows button) and in the Search Bar Look-up "RegEdit"

open "RegEdit"
you will see a window with folders, now follow this:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000"

Once your in the folder "0000", locate and right click "DriverDesc" and click Modify
a small window will pop-up, you will also see "VMWare SVGA II" or "VMWare SVGA 3D" or something along those lines
now Delete it, then hit OK

close "RegEdit"

and start Combat Arms!
if you did this Right, you should be able to play CA and own noobs again
HAVE FUN!

if you did this Wrong, Check all the Step and Redo them

but if you cant find what you did Wrong, your probably better off just Deleting the VM and start a new VM and Follow the steps again

and if nothing else works, sorry in advance
your better off with a Windows

in Reality its Simple
like looking for a Words Document

1 locate your File and add Text to it

2 locate Folder and Delete some Text in a File

and 3 Play

1st step i cant seem to do,

2nd step didnt work for me :c

------edit

after looking around, since i couldnt find a file ending with .vmx (i only had a .vmxf) i saw on another forum that said

"Step One: Find the .vmx file in the HOST OS. My VM is named "Windows XP Professional" so my .vmx file is called "Windows XP Professional.vmx". If you don't know how to find it, read below:

VMWare Workstation Users (PC Users):
Find the .vmx file in the location you installed the original VM into. If you don't remember where you installed the VM into, go to Edit->Preferences and look at the "Default location for virtual machines and teams" and it will show you the path to your VM. Then open it with a text editor such as notepad.

VMWare Fusion (Mac Users):
From Fusion's menu bar, click Window > Virtual Machine Library.
In the left column, Ctrl+click the virtual machine and click Show in Finder.
Ctrl+click the revealed package (ending in .vmwarevm) and click Show Package Contents.
Ctrl+click the file ending in .vmx and choose Open With > Other.
Navigate to TextEdit and click Choose.
You can now add or edit lines lines as needed.

VMWare Player (Non Workstation/PC Users): Look for ".VMware virtual machine configuration" instead of ".vmx"."

and i edited it, and it worked! (for windows xp home edition)

that being said, i also tried step 2, so whether it worked because step 1 was done or because step 2 was done, or even both, i don't know, but thank you very much!!

and haven't came across any issues

anyways, Have you tryed just w8ing for it to hit the Login?

how about reinstalling CA?

could be compatibility with windows xp?
( i have windows 7 )

you mite need to Create a New VM
