Is it possible to abuse the Steam item recovery policy? If yes how exactly?

Basically I got this idea of buying a load of keys in tf2/csgo, staging an account hijacking and restoring my items through Steam support. I remember reading about a guy that did this with multiple accounts on reddit, but I've forgotten the post name. This was before the mobile authenticator was added.

Has anyone here tried this? How hard was it?

Kind of an item duplication method here. This is how it works: You make two more steam accounts (assuming you already have one), wait until you are able to trade on both of the accounts, send the items to one of the other accounts you made, then send it again to the other one you made, then complain to Steam Support that your account and email got hijacked and your items are missing. Try to make it very convincing. Eventually you will probably get your items back from Steam Support (but the second account you sent the items to will still have the items as well). The first account you sent the items to will most likely be trade banned or banned. However, most likely your second account you sent the items to will not be banned. Allowing you to trade the items back to your main account.

Not sure if this is saturated or not so use at your own risk. I haven't tried it myself so I wouldn't know if it works, but I'm pretty sure it does.

Can you ask him:
What did he do wrong that his accoun got banned?
How many accounts does he use to launder the items?
And how many computers does he use in the process?

I know this might be a lot but I need to have info from someone who uses this method.

Don't forget to use a good (paid) VPN while doing this.
I have done this once more than a year ago. Not sure if it will still work, they could trade ban both your accounts. It's pretty stupid if they still don't track the items.

I probably won't get banned since I plan to use multiple computers across my city. What I don't know is how many accounts do I need and how credible those accounts need to be (games owned, hours played etc.), so they don't seem "fishy".

As for item tracking, I want to sell the keys for real money anyway, so this doesn't really matter.

I wouldn't do this and just try to make profit with trading. Steam has been catching onto it for a while now
