Hello community. Quick question for you crypto fellows
I just enabled the Two-Step verification on my btc wallet, sometimes when logging up, I get asked for a code verification on my phone by sms.
Is it still possible to get my wallet cracked down even with this verification step? Is this the reason why an hardware wallet would be the best choice?

I would not recommend sms 2 step verification. I would recommend the google authentication app instead (then the only known flaw to this would be if you lost your phone. However, if you do, then the hacker obviously needs to know your username and password and the website/service you are using). This is because, hacks can socially engineer mobile service providers and get them to switch the number to them.
If you computer doesn't have malware, and your password is strong, you should be okay anyway. If you have over $1,000 in crypto, I would get a hardware wallet.
I would recommend you to take a look at Anomaly's cryptocurrency channel: youtube . com/channel/UCrS8Da6rTX7ZfS0rfD9O-mg

He covers some hardware wallets, but yes a hardware wallet would be more secure as you don't need to rely on another service.
But there is a risk that it might get lost and or break so keep that in mind.
2FA authentication bro and you'll be alright
Electronic wallets are pretty safe. But I advise you not to give a password from your wallet to anyone.
Just make sure no one can recover your sim and u should be okay.
Keep everything on lock. Any suspicious activity, get on it asap.
Anything web-based is always prone to getting hacked. There is nothing you can do to 100% stop it. 2-Step verification is great, it's an extra layer of security. However, you could get sim swapped and still get your BTC stolen. That usually doesn't happen to your typical person though.
I second what Allura had said. Google Authenticator > SMS. The app is really good and works even when your phone is offline.
People get SIM jacked all the time.. usually higher net worth individuals who are publicly known, but I know several people who have lost a large amount of crypto because someone was able to convince their phone company to reset SIM.
