Laptop for gaming? HELP
2,5 Ghz Intel i7-4710HQ Quad Core proccesor, (3,5GHzboost) 12 GB RAM Nvidia Geforce GT 840M 2 GB
15.6" 1920 x 1080 1 TB

Would this be able to handle games like DayZ, Battlefield, and other pretty new games? I'm not looking to play games at ultra 60 fps, but at least 40 fps medium?

Price is 1,200$
Don't even bother saying: "Laptops aren't for gaming."
Yes, i know they are, but I have the money, so why not? Also any nice headphones? I was looking at turtlebeach....

Got any recommendations? Thanks.

If you know laptops aren't good for gaming, then why even buy one? You can get a desktop cheaper and a lot better + It'll keep you some extra money in the end, and Laptop can't run pretty new games at all, probably on 10-20 FPS..

As of Desktop build one your own, cheaper than this laptop ever be.

People use computers for much more than just gaming. People go to school and use their laptops at school which would make having a laptop already better than a desktop.
Desktops would require a desk to have them set up at. Not everyone has a desk at hand. I currently game on a table, simply because I do not have a desk right now. I don't need one. When I'm studying and working on school work I'm on campus.
Laptops are much much more convenient. Yes you sacrifice graphics SOMETIMES, but depending on everything you plan to do with it, Laptops are a better option. If you're ONLY gaming, then I would go with a Desktop as well.

He's 100% right. The convenience of a laptop with school/work is worth ALOT more than a few pixels IMO.

Also OP just get any laptop that has a strong harddrive/RAM/Graphics card.

I recommend HP/Samsung if you're on a budget.

Yeah, on a school/traveling aspect for sure, but when you sit all day long at home while being sick and are able to walk to a table which your computer is on.

I wanna have an apple laptop for traveling and some photography stuff, I heard its a good use for things like that (Photoshop or pretty much any editing software)

Is this good?

17,3" Intel Core i7 -4710MQ Quad Core Proccesor 2,5 GHz (3,5GHzturbo)
16 GB RAM 1000 GB, 1TB
NVIDIA GEFORCE GT840M /2048 MB GDDR3 VRAM
1920 x 1080
1500$

I also have a Macbook pro, and they really aren't worth it. Unless you wait until summer sales, etc. So they're cheaper

For that price range, look into msi.
I have a 15.6 MSi with 12GB ram, GTX960m?, backlit keyboard, and dual fans.
It cost me $1,200 after taxes.
It has been able to handle every game and editing task I throw at it with no problem while staying cool.

You're right in that aspect.

Also, I absolutely love my MacBook Pro. It's a mid 2015, 16GB Memory, 2.5GHz i7 Processor and 500GB HDD. I forgot what the graphics card in it is because I simply don't fucking care. I only play League and I can run it on the highest possible settings at 135FPS without a bit of trouble.
The real reason I own this is because I do lots of work with photography and editing. It's the best option for me in moving from my apartment to class everyday and it's [among] the best for designing.
It just makes me mad when people make assumptions about "o u dont have this computer ur baddie" which is what I thought you were doing at first hence why I wrote you a book, but I understand now that you were just making a general statement.

That's a pretty good MacBook, I would install a Apple on my Desktop if I knew it, I mean I would dual boot it or whatever its actually called so I could use Apple OS for editing and Windows for gaming, just unsure if that works like that, done a lot of research around the installing apple, but found nothing or am I too dumb to install it.

Also, Apple products aren't cheap
