Did you make the error of buying it from G2A? All their cd-keys on No Man's Sky are actually Steam Gifts which can be very difficult to refund since the seller will be contacted and will often provide proof of the gift being redeemed if they aren't happy about losing their money.
Steam gift are nearly impossible to refund so good luck to you
