He never mentioned what exactly his position was on this server that he wanted to steal lua files from and considering the fact that English probably isnt his first language you never know exactly what theyre talking about ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. But I just wanted to put some input in considering the fact that the one dude said that it was impossible, just putting it out there that under certain circumstances it most definitely is possible.

If he wanted something similar to scripthook then it's pretty obvious he was doing it from his client.

see @Cyaegha can put 2 and 2 together ... why cant you, and stealing other peoples lua files from your client is most definitely NOT possible, you can only steal server files, and if you are running the server you can steal their files but only out of their lua folder but tbh you are retarded if you put your shit in there

Pretty sure you can read anywhere within garrysmod/ without a hacky exploit. I know there's a couple floating around to read and write anywhere on the PC.

you can read anywhere in garrysmod/ on the client, from the client (including client files from the server obviously)
but you can't read files on other clients from your client
