Server Update

Ok so last friday i was hanging out at a friends place for the night. i brought my laptop over there and was using their internet when the servers crashed. after they came back up. i had normal ping and such. but when i came back home, my ping was totally fucked up. it was spiking from 100-6k...i would have to play for about an hour for it just to get to 60-300. before my ping was normally 60-90.

i have a toshiba satellite laptop with an inspiron dual core intel process. 330 GP hard drive and im running windows 7. i just bought this computer in january so its brand new practically.

i do have game booster but that hasnt helped me and in game im playing with high detail. everything on with some personal mods that i made.

ANY SUGGESTIONS TO THIS BS!

ok i think this is being caused by my wifi adapter. maybe norton? i just installed that saturday

Umm yes it could be norton. But i just recently changed to windows 7 from vista ultimate. and it might just be the os! because i had 10-70 ping on vista then i just switched to windows 7 and now i have 90-180

To tell ya the truth i have no idea >.< just saying thats what happened to me.

lol. im deleting my norton. it isnt the actually thing just that free piece of shit that gives u alerts >:O

ok i deleted norton. still lag. so im gonna reset my ip and adapter in a bit. hopefully it works...

I Suggest Gamebooster search it my ping is usually 200-400 game booster got me to 40-70 dk how but it did and I even have other programs in the back haha ownage also makes your fps around 30-40 kinda fast for me but idc

Swiftdude you should actually delete Norton because It's not good.
I recommend using Kaspersky or Eset smart security.
I personally use Kaspersky as it has more features then Eset but this is just a suggestion.

And for your ping problem I think the UK server is affection you in someway maybe. My ping is always around 270-290.

norton is the worst virus protector use bit defender or even AVG

I used to have Bit Defender It's sh1t don't get Bit Defender because It just makes It's own viruses.
recommend you just get Kaspersky or Eset smart security.

Programs like GameBooster have nothing to do with your ping ingame. However, anti-virus programs may slow down your internet, and your firewall may do that aswell. I recommend disabling your anti-virus program and your firewall while you're ingame.

A high ping is always caused by a bad internet connection. Maybe your ISP has a hard time right now.

Also, your OS doesn't have anything to do with your ping, just like GameBooster.
