[SOLVED]Playing with friends

I dont know what section this should go in , so yeah...

My friend is downloading alteriw net so we can play together, how could i get in a "party" with him so were in the same lobby searching for games? also how could i get in a private match with him?

Its basically all random as if u were wanting to join a random modded lobby. or u can connect to his ip as owens12 says

Yeah you two start aIW and u tab to the console there is something like your external and internal IP, then your friend types in his console "connect [external IP]".

[external IP] = the external Ip of the one with the Open NAT-Typ, the one who you would like to join.
