Depending on the severity of the solar maximum and the resulting coronal mass ejections we could see some serious electronics issues. The most obvious victims will be satellites because they have no atmospheric protection. A serious effort should be underway to protect vital systems like power stations and hospitals, several back up satellites should be prepped to ensure quicker recovery in the very worst case scenario.
