I recently had a idea for MPGH and it's members, Just wondering if anyone thinks the idea is worth it.
Using Dim Dim (A net meeting site which allows a White Board (Chalk Board) Screen Sharing and Push sites.
( I usually use this for webinars to display web and PC applications to clients without handing over source or links to source {if web})
I want to get together competent coders and start a "Learning" webinar once a week , the teacher will come up with a lesson plan, submit the lesson plan to me, and after approval the teacher will begin a class.
The teachers will be one per language, up to 10 students per language can join.
Total of 8 Classes for each group of 10, 1hr classes each.
Teachers needed (if everyone thinks it's a good idea, and I get admins approval)
I am willing to help, but seeing as the section is kinda dead, we need to make it active again. As always, I am covering Releases, Tutorials. Anyways, thanks for the effort. Will be helpful in future !!

Hassan.... <3 and all, but , we had this discussion, "If you build it, they will come" , it is no different then SEO. If there is a reason to come, something that separates "Us" from the rest. All the tutorials and snippets here (for the most part) can be found somewhere else.
Even with minimal participation, it may be worth it.
Teachers add information to sigs, and become active in other parts of MPGH, thats 500,000 possible leads (slight exaggeration)
Point is, we can make 1000 more tuts, then the same people can discuss those tuts..... then flame each other, then dies out anyway.
There is ALOT more to this then I think you realize .(activity wise)
Tuts may help, but e need actual leads to this section, everyone (just about reads a sig) Give them a reason to come.
Help from admins and GM's as well, I think alot of this section is lost to the hacking section discussion, I personally think we should move all programing discussions to the programing section. (but thats a opinion)
In the grand scheme of things, there is so so so so so much more to increasing activity to a section. MPGH as a whole isn't dead, and so many ppl here are developers. (or want to be)
Plus remember tuts go in tut section, not vb.net section. Inceasing the VB section still does nothing as a whole.
Also, help increase related sections, add link backs to Programming section.
Release General tools in general, then add a comment like " If you would like to lean how I made this, come to "link here" and follow my tutorial"
You missed my point. I said it will be helpful, but who needs classes at the moment. Me, you, kevin, void and the other learned people ? As I already said, I want to see the programming section like it should be. We need powerful content. I will not be attracting 12 years old with childish releases. If we can put lots of mature content, we will be getting a lot of mature users and that will be the good return of our efforts !!
You have to understand how the internet works hassan.
It's the key point you are missing, And I mean the nitty gritty of optimization and web design and how SEO woks. (beyond the basic concept)
Content Rich sites will always get traffic, however, MPGH is targeting the sale of VIP so it is (by default) optimized for targeting those 12 year olds who want to spend money on hacks.
we don't have a say, the best we can do is try and optimize are content. I can tell you that 1000's of people a day search google for ways to learning specific languages, if we can bank on that, we can then use the concept to increase traffic to programming.
This is one more step (idea) to making it happen, tuts are fine, but we can't shrug a idea because of activity, the activity that was here (no offense) was the product of months of had wok from me and those here before you truly know that. I am heading in the same direction I was, and activity will increase.
Let's consider MPGH as a application, If 1000 different versions of MPGH existed, then what can we do to innovate the concept of tutorials?
How about Live tutorials with one on one instructions from the author of the tut?
If a user gets stuck, they can ask a question, follow along, and learn from doing, not Leeching.
That is the high point of innovations, that is what innovations is about, and websites /forums, etc.. are no different.

I am just saying that we don't have to care for the kids that just want to make spammers and other crap, if we want real community !! We need to target members outside of MPGH.
I could teach C++ beginner and perhaps advanced as well
I am just saying that we don't have to care for the kids that just want to make spammers and other crap
Teachers wouldn't teach how to make things (per say)
Teachers will teach a "from the ground up" course , Like a 101 in college.
Then Advanced teachers will take it beyond that.
This isn't about teaching someone how to make a spammer, it is about teaching someone how to create anything.....
This will not only allow for interactivity and brainstorming, but will essentially lead to numerous other things, hopefully among them, more questions , more ideas, more releases and more participation.
This is so we stop seeing spammers and browsers, because Hassan taught 10 students how to make whatever they need (or the basics of such).
Theres a larger scheme to all of this.
Aok...bring the noobs ... Ima teach them !! Your turn first !

If I iz noob, then you don't know what coding is !! lulz
@ HD Thanked for
NextGen's plans are godlike!
Wouldn't say that, but thanks .
But we will see where this goes, it will take a few weeks to plan everything out . I will start.
/Support this, Cant WAIT!! Im learning C++ atm so a C++ lesson would be good.
This is epic.
First off, I hate helping people with the same problems over and over again and having to repeat myself. The help vampires will want you to do everything for them and leech off of ur kindness so that you don't have any more energy to help someone who actually needs it. However this allows me to teach many people at the same time, and explain concepts rather then specific code, which is more important in my view.
Hey can we also have seminars for non-language specific topics. I'd would love to sit through a seminar on checksum model recognition or present something on Object oriented design.

/support
Stuff like teaching algorithms and simple programmer's logic would really help anyone who wants to get started with programming.
