[Help] Killing a process

Why when i kill the process "explorer", it come back ?
is there any solution for that? To close it and not come back?

Example: I terminate the process "explorer" , the explorer close, but open again O_O

There can be a software in your computer that launches windows explorer again.
In my computer, it doesn't give that status.

But you close the process by your taskmgr right?

Yes. Even you terminate it by task manager, the software can still launch windows explorer.

Explorer is what provides Windows' GUI & file manager, you can't really do anything without it so I don't really see a point.

In taskmgr i can close it, in my program i close but he come back.

Simple, Do a program to kill the explorer and u will see what i mean...

I want close it bcuz of a game.

as void said with explorer.exe you can see ur GUI's, etc..So until ur program is open you would not close it permanently..Try this:

SOrry thats a lie, I already did a program to kill processes and it worked with explorer.exe , but that time i was a copy and paster xD

I will show you my code...

To close the programs i use this:
Note: I am using a checkedlistbox , And it close all the checked processes..
And works, but the explorer ever come back again =(

If you kill the explorer by the taskmgr it close permanent, But if you close it by that code or with gamebooster it come back, Its there any solution?

PS: That code its all made by me, No copy and paste.

meh, idk what to say...Try to use administrator credentials..It's the thing that can create you a lot of hassle.

This shows me how much people actually know about Windows.

explorer is part of Windows. If Windows detects that its gone, it will relaunch explorer (if certain conditions are met). Explorer is the start menu that you see, explorer lets you browse files, explorer is your desktop, explorer powers your programs, etc..

Without explorer you can't really do much - you can't start up any apps.

lol Man. I want close the explorer for some reason, Ofc i know it, I close it everytime i play some game..

So i want this bcuz my program its like game booster closes everything, but the explorer wont close =/
Try to close it by Taskmgr it will close ..

Inaccurate. If you manually close explorer, it may not reopen, and yes, you can run applications without explorer.exe running. Some applications / folders require explorer, but most don't.

Close down explorer.exe and open chrome, Explorer.exe will not open back up, unless you do it manually.

If I Have PS , VS 2010 Ultimate , Chrome, SQL Server running, I will close explorer.exe to free up some memory, continue to work, save, then when done, turn it on.

Explorer does everything you said, except powering your applications, explorer is exactly that, a explorer, used to explore, not to run applications.

Note: MSDN social site has a way to kill and suppress explorer.exe
