I main Vladimir on my level 30 account. Every game I have at least 1 person telling me how to play him.
Seriously, I mean, shut the fuck up. I know what I'm doing. His best ability is Transfusion, which is what should be maxed first. Players (on the LoL forums) mainly complain about Sanguine Pool, and how it is apparently OP.
In my opinion, no, it is DEFINITELY not. A large amount of the champions released have some sort of escape-type ability; if you use Vlad's pool as an initiator, you're fucking dumb. It costs 20% of your health, and has a cooldown of 16-20 seconds. And unless you're using Flash, and that you're not stunned, then you don't really have a 'way out.'
Some retard playing Alistar on my team, laning with me, decided that he'd tank the turret at level 8. We were solo against Nasus, since their Udyr was jungling. Alistar would stand under the turret, take damage from Nasus, and get hit by the turret WITHOUT DOING A DAMN THING. And when gets killed, he flames me for not helping him. He wanted me to pool into Nasus to slow him after just telling to max my Transfusion before anything else.
WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME, LoL PLAYERS? TO HOLD THE LANE, OR KILL ENEMIES? Kills don't win games, turrets do.
When playing Vladimir, tell me, what build do you use (i.e., one on Mobafire) and how you play him.

I see many people flame when you lane as vlad, so i normally go mid.
Your spells go q,w,q,e,q,r for the first 6 lvls and yeah you get up Q first, then tides of blood, then saguine pool.
I build: start with amplifying tome and healing pot. Hextech revolver, ionian boots, ryali scepter, spirit visage, zionyas deathcap and void staff (Sorry for misspelling)
The hextech revolver gives spellvamp, which allows you to heal way more from your Q move and stay in a lane longer.
Vlad is one of the massively nerfed characters in the game, and it is obvious riot does listen to rages, who probs dont even play him
They are right, dont initiate with pool, but if someone is running away, you can maybe try to get the kill or something with it. GL
People who get health over AP are idiots

I mirror matched against a Vlad who built him that way. He fed me.
I personally feel he still has fantastic survivability without going tank. I only build him AP. I use health pot>ionian boots>rylai's>spirit visage>rabadon's cap>hextech gunblade (might be forgetting something, can't remember). I use cooldown runes and masteries along with this to get a total of 40% cooldown reduction which puts my transfusion at like 1.5secs, you may not like my build but i think the cooldown makes a fantastic difference.
If I want to kill someone, I use this combo R>Q>E>Ignite>W>Q>E that combo pretty much means a guaranteed kill for just about anyone, I can't think of a more efficient skill chain, your ignite comes in before they can even consider using a heal spell/item.

Wouldn't irelia be better than vlad ._. if you were trying to go tank with someone who shouldn't
I just use spirit visage for the increased heal buff and cooldowns. As for the hextech, i think it goes without saying that I'd use it's active as that's the reason you buy it. It's just that it's extremely rare that the game ever lasts long enough to get it, actually to be honest, out of the 75+ games I've played as Vlad I never once got far enough to use hextech gunblade >>'. Anyway, I guess there would be better choices, maybe randuin's omen or a void staff or idk.
