so i got a server from beta 1.3 now its outdated does it mean that i will have to get a new one?
or is it any chance that i can update my server?
You should just be able to update the server easy.
save the trouble, just update the server

just download the "minecraft_server.exe/jar" and replace it.
you can download it from Minecraft - Download

hey0 mod is old and one one uses it anymore?
well how do i change it bukkit with having my buildings /etc left? *
and ol it didnt work, well it did but groups like stop worked.. and my plugins fucked up -.-

ofc, If you downloaded Bukkit you also need to update your mods. I'm pretty sure it's alot of plugins on bukkit for all your needs.
