Are Quest Rewards Server sided?

I have been reading the forums a lot over the last few weeks, and I've seen that many people are trying to gain weapons/armors by using various creative methods. Unfortunately, all of these methods, such as editing shopkeepers, failed. So I was wondering if anyone tried to edit a hfs to change the quest reward given or if this is impossible due to the quest being server sided.

Also server sided, client has to force something to happen, you can't edit the server to give rewards, unfortunately.

Dude the only way people (that don't have a back door hack for item creation) are getting things they need is just farming mats and selling so they have enough money to get the things they need legitly or you could just sell NX or buy in game gold.

Yeah, I believe that a couple of weeks ago such a back door existed. Sadly, I didn't have access to my computer then, so I only have a vague idea of how it functioned.
