shit i almost died

So there have been some storms circulating near where I'm at, and if nobody knows, the wiring in my house is apparently made of baling twine and staples, because if the wind blows my power blinks. Well seeing as how it was doing more than just blowing, my power went out compleley. I decided I would stroll outside and check the storm out. As soon as I popped my head out an enormous bolt of lightning struck near by, and was so loud that I just had to sit outside and watch the show.

So I was outside on my carport, just watching the lighting and listening to the thunder, and I was leaning up against one of the two large coolers outside on the carport. The large kind you store meat and bodies in. Now the cooler is made of metal, and don't get me wrong, I know how electricity works, but it didn't seem at all like a dangerous thing to do at the time, and its not like there was much else to lean/sit on nearby.

Anyways, about 7 bolts of lighting came down in rapid succession pretty close, even though the storm had been dying down, and right as I turned my head to look to the left, I saw a bolt of lightning pretty close, and I got hit. I dont remember how it happened exactly, but I do remember grabbing my elbow, then a little bit of stumbling, then thinking "I need to get on the ground", then regaining full consciousness sitting on my butt holding my elbow. I kinda sat there for a minute, thinking "shit shit fuck fuck shit wow" and then started laughing, as that seems to be my reaction to non-fatal or non-sever pain. I got up and went back inside.

For the past hour or so, my knuckles have been hurting, my right arm (the one I was leaning on) is kinda limp, I cant make a full fist, and my elbow feels like its burning. Its not burnt, but the feeling is there. My bicep feels fine, but most of my arm below my elbow is pretty hard to operate atm, as spell check here keeps reminding me.


tl;dr: I was doing something kinda dumb watching a lightning storm while propped up against a metal cooler, lightning struck, and MPGH almost lost its best member.
