There is no point to that though. The difference between the two is negligible, and probably wont make a shred of difference in real time applications. The only difference you will be seeing between a good 8GB 1600 kit and a 8GB 1800 is a price raise of at least $60. Unless he is going for some heavy overclocking, the 1600 is as good as he needs.
