Is there a way to use that tool without the huge preview thumbnail window?
its really annoying. I want to liquify places with good flow. But i forget where my render/focal was placed
I can't open Photoshop right now, but I know that when you enter Liquify tool there's a button to see the wireframe or something and it outcovers the whole image...
please be more specific
maybe an ss?

As far as I know, no.
Just hide your layers until you find the area you want to liquify.
Once you find the layer just make sure you have that layer selected, than open your filter>liquify
