[Patch] The server has responded with an invalid server key.

Have you been getting this error lately?


Well, the person you least expect, has a patch for you.

I've found that it tries to check if the server key is valid in terms of "is this a server key? or is this just random garbage the server is just passing."

Right now, Notch failed with this, so in this patch i removed that check.

(only 1 line really...l0l)

[size=small]Automatic Patch (Windows 98+ Only)[/size]

Well, that's the matter of this simple image tutorial:


The patcher WILL put the newly patched minecraft.jar into your .minecraft folder automatically, so you're ready to play as soon after you run the patcher.

[size=small]Manual Patch[/size]

Everyone else, if the patcher is not working for you then do the following:

1. Go to the bin folder.
2. Take abp.class and then open your minecraft.jar with WinRAR.
3. Take the abp.class and then put it into the minecraft.jar.
4. Important Make sure you delete the entire META-INF folder in minecraft.jar
5. Put it back in .minecraft/bin
6. ???
7. PROFIT

Now go back to what you do best, playing the best of minecraft... Multiplayer!
