Hacking Basics

This tutorial outlines a few different, basic ways to get you started using hacks. The tutorial will be split into the following sections:

The hack file
Injectors
Injecting hacks
Minimising risk
Minimising Lag
Troubleshooting

A. THE HACK FILE

The hack file, in .dll format, can be coded using a variety of languages (e.g. C++, VBB, etc.). These languages are very time consuming to learn, so, alternatively, ready to use .dll files have been released here on MPGH for your convenience, usually packed in .rar or .zip format. To obtain hacks, follow these steps:

1. Go to the main Combat Arms Hacks Section.
2. Scroll down past all the sub-sections until you can view the threads.
3. You will see 4 types of threads: [Release], [Outdated], [Detected] and [Patched]. Usually, you should use undetected hacks (in the [Release] threads], but there have been occasions where detected hacks will work after the use of certain programs, which will be covered later in the tutorial. For beginners, I suggest using undetected hacks with the [Release] tag.
4. Search through the available hacks for features which you desire; there may be an in-game image of the features and/or a list of features.
5. Scroll down the desired hack thread until you see the "Downloadble files" box. Click on the link with the little image next to it.

6. Because the downloaded file usually comes in .rar or .zip format, you will need to extract the files in order to use it. For this, you will need 7-zip or WinRAR. Go to either of the links (only one; they both work the same) and download the program and install it. For this tutorial, I will use 7-zip.
7. After following the installation prompts, you will need to use it to extract the hack .dll from the .rar/.zip file. Simply follow as shown:7-Zip Extract Guide : How To Use 7-Zip to Extract / UnRaR Files

B. INJECTORS

The purpose of injectors is to, as the name suggests, "inject" the hack .dll file into CA for use. These, downloaded from MPGH, also come in .rar or .zip format, so you will need 7-zip and WinRAR again. To obtain injectors:

1. Go to the Spammers, Injectors and Multi-Tools Section.
2. Scroll down and scan through the threads until you see one with "injector" in its name. Injectors I recommend are Portal and Extreme Injector.
3. Follow the extraction details above (6. and 7. of "The Hack File").

C. INJECTING HACKS

FOR PORTAL:
1. Follow the prompts to install Portal.
2. Create a new folder and name it "HACK FILES".
3. Put the .dll file into the newly created folder.
4. Run Portal. When prompted, select the "HACK FILES" folder as the source.
5. Portal will automatically inject and run CA for you.

RECAP #2:

FOR NON-PORTAL INJECTORS: (Extreme Injector is recommended)
1. Right click on the .exe and press "Run as administrator".
2. Where it asks for process, type in "Engine.exe" without the inverted commas. Some injectors require you to type in "Engine.exe" while others require you to type "Engine" only; read the thread original thread for additional info.
3. In the "Inject List" box, click the "Add DLL" button.
4. When the pop-up appears, locate the extracted .dll file, and press "Open".
5. Now, click on "Settings". From here there are many different options which you should choose according to your preference. I highly recommend that you check the "Enable DLL Scrambling", "Append Random Data" and "Erase PE" boxes, as well as "Auto Inject" and "Close on Inject".

D. MINIMISING RISK
To minimise risk of getting caught out and, ultimately, banned, it is advised that a cleaner is used. The function of a cleaner is to remove "junk" files which may provide Nexon with enough information to ban you. Even though all cleaners, essentially, have the same function, there a a few which are 'better' than others (i.e. ease of use, gui, etc.): c l æ n e r ², Clean Arms v1.3 and Lock v1.2. These programs are quite self explanatory and easy to use.

To further reduce risk of getting banned, ciphering the hack is recommended. Simple PE Cipher is the program that should be used with ALL .dll files as it greatly reduces the risk of getting banned. In addition, master131's .DLL Scrambler should be used as well.
NOTE: The scrambler is also integrated into master131's injector.

E. MINIMISING LAG

Often when hacking, users will experience more FPS lag than usual. To counter this, there are a variety of programs which may help: Game Booster (3.4 OR 3.5BETA), Advanced System Care, Smart Defrag and CCleaner. All of these programs have varying functions, but they will all reduce lag as well as boost the speed and performance of your pc.

F. TROUBLESHOOTING

Sometimes, your PC may be missing or have corrupt files and hacks won't work as a result. The most common error, is the missing "msvcp100.dll" and "msvcp100d.dll" errors. To fix this issue, check out this detailed tutorial: The PROPER way to fix msvcr100.dll, msvcr100d.dll or d3dx9_*.dll errors.
If it is not a .dll error, and you receive an error code instead, read this to try and solve your problem.
Alternatively, you can try and use MASANv1.1 to try and solve issues. Furthermore, there has been a recent influx of Combat Arms crashing. To prevent this, Neexon has provided a solution.
