How to Use
To use this, unzip the contents of the .zip provided below to a directory that contains no spaces. Double click the on rotmgModSelector.bat or rotmgModSelector_1.01.jar to run. Select the modifications you want applied to the client by checking the little boxes to indicate you want said modification. After your selections have been made, click the build button. It will take a bit of time before it is done. When you see the build button pop up and become clickable again, you know it's finished. Look in the directory where you put the mod selector, there should be a file named AssembleeGameClient1353469966-mod.swf. This is your modified client. Open it like any .swf file by dragging it to your browser or opening it with Adobe Flash Player Projector.
Common Problems
1) "I double click the rotmgModSelector.bat or the rotmgModSelector_1.01.jar and nothing happens. HELP!!!"
This happens for a number of reasons but all of them have to do with java, either not being updated or not setup correctly on the computer. The first step you want to take is to go to java .com and click the downloads button at the top to get a link to Version 7 Update 9 of the java runtime environment. Install this and see if it solves the problem. If after installing and rebooting, the same problem persists, then try modifying the rotmgModSelector.bat file with a text editor like notepad to look like this:
For 32-bit Windows:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java" -jar rotmgModSelector_1.01.jar
pause
For 64-bit Windows:
Code:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java" -jar rotmgModSelector_1.01.jar
pause
This assumes that you have java installed in the default directory for your operating system.
If, after trying the above, double clicking on the .bat or .jar file doesn't open the gui like in the pic above then try installing the jdk. People had success running this program by installing java's jdk. One shouldn't have to install the jdk to get this to work but when all else fails it is probably the easiest solution.
2) "I click the build button but nothing seems to happen. No AssembleeGameClient1353469966-mod.swf is created in the directory where I have the mod selector program."
If running with the .bat file, you'll probably see something like this:
This can happen for a number of reasons. It could be that you have spaces in the path to the mod selector (for example: C:\Users\me\Desktop\ROTMG Mod Selector\ ). If this is the case, first take out the spaces in the path leading up to the mod selector. After you've done that, load up the mod selector and select browse and choose the AssembleeGameClient1353469966.swf file. This should fix the problem if this is the issue. Another reason this can happen is if you try to use .zip/.xml files in the mod directory that is incompatible with the mod selector or the version of the client the mod selector is set to apply modifications to. To make sure this isn't the case, only use the .zip files included in the download here or that is explicitly stated to work for the AssembleeGameClient1353469966 client.
3) "I can't login into the client.... It says it doesn't recognize my email but I play fine on a regular version on a browser... Help?"
Make sure to select "Enable Connecting to Production Servers". If you don't, you'll see testing in the lower left hand corner and will be logging into the testing servers.
4) "When I load the SWF it just gets stuck on "Loading..." but when I go to the website version of ROTMG it works normally... help please?"
This is usually because your projector that runs the .swf has saved information from an account that was banned. Upon loading the .swf file it tries to log into this account and fails. The solution is this:
http://www.mpgh.net/forum/599-realm-...ml#post6895912 .
5) "I'm having problems with my auto-aim, I'm not sure how to use it. Can anyone help me please?"
The auto-aim here takes over the autofire function. So pressing your autofire button should activate it (i key by default).
What does x hack do?
Most are self explanatory so I'll cover only the ones that are asked about most often.
Dev Hotkeys - These are testing hot-keys that were programmed in by the devs but disabled on release. Most are not very useful. Here is a list of them:
F2 - turn off ui
F3 - plays with viewing distance (widescreen?)
F4 - toggles chat bubbles/damage and things like that
F6 - projectile color
F7 - blend on ground (blocky or smooth)
F8 - enable s urvey
F9 - turn drawing of all projectiles off
F12 - chat type test
Disable Client Swap - This was released as a way to help with the issue of bugged or phantom loot in the player's inventory (i.e. picking up an item and later, after nexusing, the player finds that the item disappeared).
Spammable Notifications - This is to enable messages like damage and heal indicators to be spammed on screen. If you are using a proxy, like Oryx Domination that makes heavy use of notifications, it will allow it's notifications to be spammed.
Allow Playing with Dated Client - This is provided as a solution to hexed clients. It allows one to play on an outdated client if it is at all possible to play with it. So basically if hexing a client works with the current server version, then this will work also.
Numerical HP/MP - This makes the numbers that you see when hovering the mouse over one of the bars on the side bar always visible. This also makes other players health/magic (and fame if using the inventory/stat viewer) numbers visible.
Add HP/MP Bars - Adds health bars on the bottom of character/mobs. For players, it also shows a mp bar.
Enemy/Player Display HP - Instead of showing damage received, it shows how much health the player/mob has left.
Bugs
It seems as if there are some bugs in the client that could very well be due to the modifications made by this program (things like sound being delayed and then spammed at once). I haven't had time to fully test all the mods so these issues, if caused by the mod selector, has not been fixed for this release. Hopefully for the next release I'll have some time to look at these issues.
Everything Else
I didn't fully test all the modifications provided with this program. I only did a brief test to see if they functioned or not. If someone sees that something isn't working properly, post about the problem in this thread. I'll look into it.
Also, not all these hacks are done by me. This program includes work from others (notably @
JustAnoobROTMG), I've only took the time to update the _-names to get them to work with the current version. So if you like this hack, thank the community here for making it possible to do what is being done here.
