Windows Vista Issue

My old computer was running Windows Vista. For some reason it stopped booting (BSOD after 2 seconds of BOOT), popped in an OEM disk from the internet and saw my Drive was "Unallocated Space", but all of my files are still there. I have about 300GB of files (and can not back them up reasonably.)
Anyone have an idea on how I could save all of my files and have Vista back on the drive correctly?

Install windows 7 30day trial and use an activator. Copy all of your files onto a USB and Format your harddrive.

You can use live bootable media (like a linux distro) to get your files to either a server or physical storage, then you can reformat and install

Or you can just look at the blue screen. There is that stop information for a reason you know.

I used Vista for 3 years, and surprisingly had less Blue Screens than on Windows 7. Problem?

This was my parent's way old computer that I now own. I'm just trying to restore the files so I can give them their pictures and such. Personally, I'm going to be running a linux server with this machine. It's not terrible, but it's nowhere near the best.

I got a BSOD on Windows 7 once.
This was after three months of
ON => USE FOR HOURS AND HOURS => HIBERNATE => LOOP
Eventually, it died.

Look at the stop code, and google it for a solution. If you used Linux you should know it can be booted live, so you could just use that to move your files /fp

Hey dumbfuck, I said I didn't have a reliable way to backup the files. I have 300GB of shit to backup.

I use Puppy Slacko via a Flashdrive most of the time, but on this computer it doesn't run well at all. Flickering screen, Ram = 0MB errors, etc.

Tried Knoppix? If all else fails, write your own NTFS driver along with a driver for your hard disk, and get the files that way.

Vista's a piece of shit marketing gimmick, oops I meant operating system, and if you used it for 3 years I feel sorry for you. Plus your statement implies you had to deal with blue screen crashes.

Do you realize Windows 7 is essentially a Windows Vista service pack? Both are still Windows NT Version 6.
