Help guys asm unresolved external

Check the first 2 images i uploaded, i just finished C++ and 2 ppl told me to learn ASM, and in ma first project this problem occured, searched on internet but didnt find anything helpful,
here i created 2 files, first one is a .cpp, and the other one is an .asm
and when debugging i get this problem although im writing the same code the guy did in a kinda video tutorial..
Help!
+ guys i found out that the guy in the video open Debug, Windows, he has lots of thing like Watch while i only has the first 2 options :/
Check image 3.
in his first video he told us to download SDK, i downloaded it and installed all it's components..
any one got any ideas??????

in visual studio 2010, at up left corner, when he opens 1

ebug , then 2:Windows , He has got more than 10 options then : Breakpoints, outputs, Watch, and alot more.. , but me! i only got the first 2 options idk why..

Not sure about the windows, but did you check the box "use masm asembler for asm" like he said in the video?

Maybe try *right clicking* on the .asm file in the solution explorer and at the bottom of the pop-up menu select
"Properties" and set the "Item Type" to "Macro Assembler".

Not sure of all the options in the different msvs versions. This worked for me when I had the same problem. msvs 2010 ulti.
edit: I think this is a file-by-file setting, which isn't cool, there must be a better way.

well the guy in the video made us do that at first:
right click the file name (under Solution), choose build customization, then choose MASM..
anyway i will try to do what u told me to do, but now iam repairing SDk so if that could fix it.. but it's weird when the guy open Debug , then windows, and he finds like 13 options to choose :? @abuckau907[COLOR="Silver"]

Only when the executable is running will the Debug-->Windows show the rest of the windows. If the program isn't currently running, it will only show the 3 options.

mmm. i think the guy in the vid said that we must do that while the program is running.. but how to run it? cuz when i press F5 i get the resolved external error.. @abuckau907

You have to do this for every new project you create.

this is not the same as right-clicking on the individual file ( the .asm file, not the entire project ), selecting Properties from the menu, and set it's item type to masm. Like my screenshot.

Obviously fix the code errors before trying to run /show the debug windows. I was just telling you they won't show up until the program is running.

are you using incremental linking? try setting it to no in the project options.
(I havent trolled the forum enough to be able to post links or i would show you where with an image tag but heres the address to the picture.)

NO ONE COULD SOLVE THIS ISSUE?? i cant do anything until i fix this..

If this was in NASM I would know how to do this. I can show you how to create an import DLL in masm and call your functions from that. I don't know how to properly link objects assembled using ml and objects compiled using cl, I get mad access violation errors.

note: ml and cl are MS's binaries to compile and assemble.

Well i had 2 problems..
1 : the thing that solved my problem is what @abuckau907 said about changing the compiler in asm proberties to Micro
2 : EDIT : my second problem which made the "1 unresovled error" happens again that my cpp and asm files had same names.. like Cube.cpp and Cube.asm ,, that made me go crazy.. so when i changed the .asm file name the problem vaniched and everything worked , omg..THANSK EVERYONE!
