You don't need hamachi. Just download the client and run.
If client says "loading error, retrying", the server is down. Tell me on Skype if it happens. If it says "loading", wait. It might take up to few minutes since the vps isn't good.

I got a 1 month VPS and I wanted to let people who never tried MMOE private server to try it.
The VPS will expire in 1 month.
It costs $11 USD per month to maintain the server so donations are appriciated and will make the server live longer.

Please donate to keep server alive and for better performance.
If you donate $3 or more, you will be given helper status and you'll be able to spawn items and enemies and use most of the commands.
