Gas = Black screen

Title basically says it all. Once I step into gas / go outside in cabin fever, my screen goes black.
I've already tried to create the .reg file that contains;

.reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Cl ass\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-*08002BE10318}\0000]
"~Engine.exe"=dword:00000001

But alas, I am still getting a black screen.
Some decent help would be much appreciated.

If you already tried the tutorial Combat Arms - Forum and it doesn't work for you, then you might want to look at options on changing your GFX card.

i had this same problem i never solve the problem i even tried moding out the gas flash but nothing seemed to work sorry but as far as ik your stuck with it....

Have you done any rez editing?

Fire will do it to you too. You need a dedicated GPU to process the effects. Pick up a cheap $40 card at walmart.

I have the same issue. The forums claim to have a fix. Never worked for me.

Does a GPU make the game run smoother? I play on Low quality, would a GPU change that?

Yes, depending on which graphics card you get, you would get a better game play at higher graphic settings. Although, for Combat Arms, you don't need a heavy duty one.

the forum fix worked. its a bit wierd to understand though.

Says the patch file is not valid. T_T

Have you tried to update your graphics software depends on what card you have (amd, intel, nvidia, etc). Go on their website look up your card and download the latest driver. I hope that helps!
