Hey all,
I've noticed recently that a lot of people are reporting cheats as being detected for overwatch/game bans. So I'm here to briefly explain the difference between the types of CSGO bans you can encounter during your cheating career.
VAC
The first is a
VAC ban. These occur when your account has been detected by valve's anti cheat system and means that the cheat you were using has become detected. (Please make sure that you check the version of the cheat you were using against the thread on the forum, I've seen people reporting that the cheat has been detected when they were really using a version out of date.) In this situation, if you were only using
the one hack, then you can report it as being detected along with screenshot proof, preferably one of your steam profile and inside CSGO (Two total, using imgur/gyazo/lightshot).
In order to find out what a VAC ban looks like, this is what it'll look like on your steam profile:
And this is how it'll appear inside CSGO
Overwatch
The next ban I'll go over are the two different
Overwatch bans you may encounter during your career as a cheater. The first is the most common and will occur if you've became convicted through CS:GO's overwatch system for hacking, this usually occurs if you play too obviously, such as 40 bomb 100% HS games, or tracing people through the walls and doing insane prefires everytime. The best way to avoid getting an overwatch ban is learn how to cheat badly, we all want to play like a god, but if you care about your account you're going to want to play like someone legit. I'd recommend reading

Majorly Disruptive:
A Majorly Disruptive ban is the type of ban you'll get after being convicted for a
cheating offence. They'll appear on your steam profile like so:
And will appear in game like so:
In this situation you
will not report the cheat as being detected, since the ban occurred due to a user error and is no way correlative to the cheat in question being detected. However, there's also one more version of overwatch you may be convicted for and that is;
Minorly Disruptive:
A minorly disruptive ban is received if you've been convicted by overwatch for griefing, which means you were reported and banned for one of these things;
- Killing Teammates
- Flashing/Smoking/Nading/Burning teammates on purpose
- Running in and dying on purpose
- AFKing at spawn for the majority of the game
These will show up in game only and will have no impact on your steam profile, they will also be attached with a cooldown timer that will vary between 30-90 days on average. They show up in game like so;
There are also
Account Untrusted bans which occurs when you've been flagged down for cheating, these are irreversible and
will turn into
VAC bans after a set amount of time, usually between 1-3 days. If there are any questions about anything written in this post, reply to this thread or send me a private message.
Thanks all for taking the time to read this, I hope it'll cut down the false detected reports for people who became OW convicted.
