I am trying to make some totally transparent DTX files so that I can mess around with the HUD. I went on gimp and created a new tga file that was totally transparent, then transfered it to dtx and put it in as the files in the HUD_RADAR rez file. Idk why, but the radar isn't transparent!!! Anyone know what's going on?
It is a DTX files and it does not have animation, radar is animation.
But the radar files are all DTX files, also the text or whatever instead of the radar rotates when you move around. And also, when I have done this with other files, like the small weapon pictures, they turn out white or random stuff
Did you use the eraser tool or delete them.
What i did was make a new (supposedly) transparent DTX file, then inject it instead of the files in the rez file.
u cant make a DTX transparent, it will always be there, i dunno y, ive tried many times...
Each .dtx file has a certain colour that when applied, makes nothing there. Like on some, it is black. Black = invisible. (Not always. )

racist bastered, 2 blacks dont make white ok XD
Wow, I didn't even MEAN to sound racist. But I spose I said blacks are invisible. o.o
So basically I have to find the transparent color for each file?
...time consuming
Hmm do you know if completely erasing the hex code could make it transparent?
So like inserting a DTX file with no stuff/code/text in it?
Yeah an empty .dtx file
nope, does the exact same thing
why not just try putting a little patch of color and if one is transparent, then you know which color it is?
