Word press site

Hi guys,

I am a newbie at this so please bare with me, i have currently made a website in word press and i would like to add a registration and login page but what i would also like to do is either approve them or decline them sort of thing (so i can pick and choose who i accept ) is there anyway of doing this? understand i will need to hook it up to mysl etc? any info, tuts, plugins or knowledge i would be most grateful
