Before you start... Backup your old login screen file at:
C:/Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/rez/UI/UI_Login/
Backup the file named 'loginbg'
Now, starting off...
You're gonna need Photoshop CS3 or above to open TGA files.
First, open the file 'loginbg.tga' in C:/Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/rez/UI/UI_Login/
Second, you need to keep the menu position and login field positions because the form locations CANNOT change, only the GUI & BG.
After you're done editing to your needs, save it!
If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 read the below information or your work will not be saved.
=Windows Vista & 7 security issues=
make sure that you HAVE PERMS to save in the folder!
Go back to:
C:/Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/rez/UI/UI_Login/
Right click on the middle of the folder and press 'Properties'
Go to the 'Security' tab.
Press 'Advanced', click on the 'OWNER' tab.
Press 'EDIT', Click your username.
Press 'OK' then 'OK' again.

If this is the first login screen or even the second, i suggest you don't edit the login dialog until you know a sufficient amount of information of how this GUI & Login screen works.
Use the same login dialog, just delete everything around it and paste your image behind the login dialog.
Now that you're completely done, MAKE SURE you save it AS A TGA! and press 'YES' to confirm replacement of the old login screen.
