Chat not working in crazyclient?

I downloaded wbf's crazyclient, and for some reason I can see other people's chat but I they can't see mine. The only thing that works is guild chat and whispering. I have looked through all of the options and can't find anything (and yes I do have player chat on), so unless there is some hidden command or something, what is happening?

Did you see the star requirement option in the chat tab of the options menu?

Yeah it's only on light blue, shouldn't be causing any problems.
