Exactly, suicide is an attention grabber, so its great for attention hogs to use as bait.

It's much more about change than attention whoring.

Out of the thousands of people to kill or attempt suicide each day, I'm willing to bet over 90% of them are doing so because they just want change. Not to seek attention from their peers. There is also those who threaten suicide to get out of trouble / benefit off government/private assisted programs. But anyone willing to end their life is doing so because they want to change their life. Suicide is just the most convenient option for them.
