What game are you trying to do this for? Not many games these days allow this kind of cheating.

Find out what writes to that address and NOP the ASM code that modifies it

There is some nice tutorials on youtube. Basically you go from zero to hero in CE. But it will take time since even CE looks simple, it is not when you go indepth.
