This is a crude fix of an error you can get here:

This "fixes" the 'StartIndex cannot be less than zero.' error.
This is a crude fix that was fixed based on logic I learned from other languages. I don't actually know C#.
I will start learning C# now and maybe I'll fix it completely later on.
To choose a specific difficulty, when you double click the map in the application, at the bottom where it says "Beatmap:", at the end of the name between the "[ ]" is the difficulty.
If you get a signature not found, just restart osu and the application until it works, as stated above, I don't know C# so I don't know how to fix this error. Also, you can try opening osu, pressing Play -> Solo, then opening the application. If this doesn't work, try: pressing Edit, back out of edit back to home screen, the pressing Play -> Solo.
If the song name is too long, remember that within a group of songs, they are ordered by alphabetical order based on difficulty name.

4. Put songs you want to relax into the SongSu folder
Note: The songs have to be the entire folder
Note 2: If you put too many songs in the SongSu folder, it gets difficult to find the song in the application
5. Start Osu
[If you get a signature error:
5.1 Click Edit
5.2 Back out of edit back to home screen
5.3 Click Play
5.4 Click Solo/Multiplayer
]
6. Start Application
(Optional 7. Wait about 10 seconds [If relax doesn't work])
If this post seems different than the original one, it's because I accidently saved something over the text while I was uploading the third version of the CrudeFix which simplifies the steps, but its still a crude fix.
