Anyone here into Android programming and development? What are your opinion's on the android OS, and and app dev for it?
Planning to try it in a while, though first I am planning to "officially" learn Java (as in, make sure I do in fact know all the basics).
Hmmm any random tips and/or resources related to android programming would be appreciated
I think it's pretty cool they're releasing an SDK so that people can develop on it. Though half of the population won't give a crap about that and buy it just 'cause it looks cool.
Don't know Java yet so can't give you any tips. Ask Why maybe.
I am into that and its quite hard ...... but the API works for c++ tok

Umm, Well you need the SDK which is freely available from google. And if you want to actually publish apps in the marketplace there is a 25 dollar developer fee. I would also recommend owning an android device, though that isn't necessary since included with the SDK is an emulator. (though it is rather slow)
and The benefit is being able to write android apps I guess. . .
Also, a good way to get people interested in developing Java if they don't already know/like it.

Eh, well honestly I dislike java. though I also love it. but I also hate it.
This is the first I've ever heard of it. I'm interested I know the android is the second best handheld when it comes to programming (The psp being 1st [in my opinion]) And you say it's Java?
