VPN Pre-beta testers
Sup all,

The VPN client for lechr (MPGH publicist VPN) nears completion and we need some people that are willing to help test it.

Requirements:
- Windows computer
- Administrative Access
- Located in AU or US

Additional Information:
For the purpose of development/testing, we have only purchased two servers. Once we do a public beta/full release, more will be added.

Preview (temporary client):

Currently, no. But I will be remaking this thread for osx, ios, and android in the future. Hopefully soon, but idk. Was just going to have guides for those operating systems until our budget is increased.

Known bugs:
- Throttled download speed as a result of CPU throttling
- Reconnecting to the same server is buggy. Often requires restart.
- Installing TAP driver is faulty.

VPN working so far, with a few bugs as expected for pre-beta. Looking forward to where this goes

All the privacy policies and terms of service on the site rn are temporary and need updating.

But yeah, we store no traffic logs.

Fixed reconnecting and tap driver bug. Nothing I can do about the first one, other than perhaps purchase more expensive equipment. But for development, they will suffice.

OS-X and all other Nix clients are going to be controlled from browser. Little example of what it may look like below. Though that will be embedded to the control panel for convenience.

Read before using this VPN

VPNs are mostly used for security (encryption) + anonymity online these days.
To achieve the first part all you have to do is setup a secure tunnel between you and a target server.
All the traffic between you and VPN server will be encrypted and impossible to view by other network users.
However if you connect with HTTP (without S - secure) you are still using unencrypted connection between VPN server and website server.
It's impossible to encrypt traffic to a website server which basically doesn't support it.
What does it mean? You have to trust the owner of the VPN server that he/she doesn't sneak peak into your HTTP traffic.
In short: if you care about encryption you should use a reliable and trustworthy VPN provider. (I don't judge if the threadstarter is reliable or not, just inform you)

And now about the second part - anonymity.
If you decide to use VPN with low customer base there will be less people using the same IP address and it will be easier to bind the IP to your person and identify your traffic which completely ruins the idea of anonymity by using VPN right now.
In short: if you care about anonymity you should use VPN providers which already have big user base and multiple servers around the world

To sum up.
VPN which is mentioned in the thread will only guarantee you a secure encryption between you and a VPN server however it will be possible to preview your traffic (websites you visit, logins, passwords etc.) if those websites are using only HTTP (without S - secure).
You should really trust the VPN provider in that case.
Also your traffic won't become more anonymous as there are only few users using this VPN.
If you really care about encryption and anonymity you should search for a popular VPN or simply use Tor Browser from https://www.torproject.org/ (recommended)

All your points are idiotic. Yes, theoretically, we can sniff your non-encrypted data. Realistically, I'm a lazy motherfucker and cannot be fucked coding something to do such a thing. Even if I wasn't lazy, where the fuck would you propose I store all this data? there is potentially terabytes of I would need to store. And as we scale, we need to scale our storage devices. This would also throttle throughput of our servers to the read/write speed of the HDD. And this is more or less a startup, and our budget is next to nil. Where do you propose we get the money to invest in this technology? And why would be the purpose of storing this data? to hack you? to sell to advertising firms? to make our own advertising firm?

I wouldn't even know how to get access to this data. OpenVPN doesn't provide a way to log all data, afaik. Privacy invasion isn't easy, especially regarding a VPN.

That was just regarding us snooping your raw http. Now let me critique your shitty point about our small customer-base. So what? this point is just as stupid. We have fewer users, which means fewer servers, which means users are more likely to share the same server. Our customers to server ratio, once we launch, will probably be that of semi-large vpn.

I cannot be bothered responding the the rest of your arguments. Stop trying to promote stupid projects (tor). The only use that they provide is watching kiddo porn and other illicit things. Using tor as a daily browser is the most idiotic thing anyone could ever do. But hey, we know now why you use it kiddopornking.
