In case you were not aware, we're currently working on rewriting the Embedded IM Chat (Birdie) and creating a dedicated web page for it to be accessed outside of MPGH. I'm working on whatever I can to help, which is currently the frontend work using React. This isn't a strong area of mine, but I'll try and incorporate as much as I can from what people would like to see.
It's being made using Material UI. I'm mainly looking for opinions on UI/UX and the layout. This is for a dedicated web page that will work fine on mobile devices as well. A dedicated mobile app will come later. Please try not to provide opinions about new feature requests, as a lot of those have already been mentioned in this thread. If you have some general opinions about features that's fine, but please try to stick to what's needed for this current phase of development.

Looks good but it will be good to be integrated with Forum, not outside...

I'm sure that the UI for the forum chat will be changed as well, but that's simpler to do since the embedded chat is supposed to be more minimal, since it is embedded after all.
Although this is going to be outside of the forum, it's still going to be relying on MPGH accounts the same way as now.

Maybe too early to ask but how is going to look when are people adding? Like now you can put [IM], how people will add then?

I don't think that'll change. The two ways to add people being the IM BBCode [IM] and the button in your postbit. At least in terms of adding people through the forum, it will likely stay the same.
Sometimes I add a few people in the marketplace then I forget why I added them and what was their service, so I suggest that you allow us to send messages before people approve our friend request or make us change their names (nickname) in the Im, or add an automatic message on top of the chat that shows which thread I was in when I added the user... Maybe I'm the only one going through this but I just wanted to suggest that just in case.. & great work guys!
Notifications or an EMAIL notification when someone added you. Thanks

I'm not sure about the sending a message with a friend request part, but maybe adding a note for each of your contacts is easily doable.

Yeah that should be possible.

Mainly looking for ideas and suggestions for UI/UX. Not new features.
Would be great if there was an option to create groups. Not like chat groups but groups for your contacts. This would help keeping track of who is who (like friends, sellers etc.) and also keeping it clean.

See above post, this is about UI/UX. :|

As I said, this would help keeping the UI clean. I hate having 20 contacts in an unsorted list.
Always said about any type of skin but add the light switch function for day/night users

Hes asking for UI ideas, so how would that look?
Please add option to add user as favorite so it automatic stick to top.
Also please think about how can we get notification for messages if you are not logged in mpgh acc.
Also cool feature if you could customize your design and colors yourself.
