[SOLVED]Mw2 7gb Update

I logged into steam today and mw2 wouldnt start. Then I looked at the download section and found that both mp and sp were getting a 7gb update. This realy pissed me off as the time remaining was 7h and 30m. Does any one know what this is about and how i can stop it updating so i can ply mw2?

maybe steam is downloading new files that you might have modified before...

if so you are banned... or if it's textures then maybe not...

Ive never modded any of the files, and if i reinstalled mw2 will the update go away?

why is my sig F****D up? I only made it today?

Unistall Modern Warfare 2 and re-install it with the discs if you have them. My friend had this problem this morning except his was 16GB worth of files. He re-installed, launched Modern Warfare 2, allowed Steam to update the files and voila! He's all happy again!

Yes! It worked, I reistalled with both mw2 discs and the update went up to 99%, thankyou everyone for your quick help and advice

this is just a steam bug, happend to me too on the last update..
